What methods do you use?

I use a combination of conscious and subconscious methods - eyes open or eyes closed - to create changes or to release pain, working with the mind-body connection and the subconscious mind. I blend a number of techniques tailored to your individual needs, to give you a great result. This is not a “come chat about your problems type therapy” - it's simply for those who have had enough of the things that hold them back.

What is hypnosis?

We all have an inborn ability to be hypnotised and experience altered states of consciousness in our day to day lives. This can be in the form of intense focus, daydreaming or light sleep.

Whilst most people believe that hypnotherapy is unconscious mind control where you go to sleep, it’s actually a heightened state of awareness, in which you can become highly tuned into what you want to achieve.

Your conscious mind already knows what you want, but it can be a struggle to get there because of automatic habitual programmes running in your subconscious mind that need a little tweak. That’s why hypnotherapy is perfect for making rapid change, as it allows you to access your subconscious mind to bring in more health, wealth, happiness, joy or abundance, or free you from negative thoughts, habits or traits.

In a nutshell, hypnotherapy helps you to rapidly change what’s stored in your subconscious mind, so you can achieve the physical or emotional improvements you desire.

Will I be asleep?

No, you do not go to sleep. You are awake and alert, conscious of everything that is happening throughout the session.

Will I be under your power during hypnosis?

No, you are 100% in charge. You cannot be made to do anything and you cannot be taken into hypnosis against your will. It is your experience, I simply facilitate you.

How can a treatment aimed at your mind affect your body?

The body responds physically to thoughts. For example, when you think a frightening thought, you can experience increased heart rate, shortness of breath, “butterflies” in the stomach, muscular rigidity, sweating, shaking, and so on.

Similarly, when you think a pleasurable thought, you can experience reduced heart rate, deeper breathing, relaxation of muscles, and so on. These are autonomic nervous system responses that are involuntary, but they can be utilised to promote health.

When hypnotised, you are very open to suggestions that can enhance positive and diminish negative physical reactions.

What if I can't be hypnotised?

You can, because everyone can.

You have already been in hypnosis many times. For example, when you drive somewhere on autopilot and lose track of time, and can’t remember the journey.  Or when you’re zoned out watching TV.  Even "losing" items that are right in front of your eyes is hypnosis.  It is a safe and natural state of mind.

Try it now... Can you imagine yourself going into trance? Imagine yourself drifting on a calm and peaceful river. Picture your muscles becoming loose and limp. Then imagine experiencing the most amazing trance experience. As long as you wish to enter hypnosis, you will.

Essentially, hypnosis is a state of pure focus, guided by my instructions and your imagination.

Am I assured of confidentiality?

Absolutely. All clients are assured of complete confidentiality about any disclosed material, in accordance with professional codes of ethics. I do not contact other practitioners or doctors who the client may also be under, without the client’s permission. I will destroy inactive files after three years in order to assure clients’ total confidentiality.

What if I can't physically attend a session?

Online sessions are available. For clients based in Guernsey, home and workplace visits are available.
